Dr. Yuan Wen HAU is a research fellow and the head of Cardiac Informatics Cluster
at IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She
is also a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering,
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She received both Ph.D. degree and master degree in electrical engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2009 and 2005, respectively. Dr. Hau’s research interests are in the design of multi-processor systems-on-chip (MPSoC) /networks-on-chip (NoC), from electronic system level (ESL) modelling to Register Transfer Level (RTL), as well as field programmable gate array (FPGA) implementation. From there her research interests have spread into the field of cryptographic and data security application, biomedical application such as arrhythmia classification and medical imaging processing, as well as ADHD/autism assessment. She has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, and several book chapters. She also owns a national patent and few copyrights. She is a member of the IEEE.

Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen

Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen started her Bachelor of Computer Engineering at Univerisiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1999. She pursued her study in Master in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) and obtained her PhD with Merit in 2012 and has currently serve as a senior lecturer at the Faculty Bioscience And Medical Engineering since March 2012. In 2012, she received her Post Doctoral Fellowship from the Ministry Of Science Technology And Innovation and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen is registered to Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) and Member of IEEE.

She is also an academic Manager of UTMSPACE Part-Time Degree Programes, Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering since January 2013. Other than that, she serve as a Cluster Coordinator of Cardiac Monitoring & Rehabilitation Cluster, IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre since December 2013. Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen is also one of the Task Force Leader of HiCoe Documentation, IJN-UTM Cardivascular Engineering Centre since March 2014.

Her core expertise and skills are in Biometric Image Processing, Medical Imaging Processing , Data Security And Compression, Embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) Design,

Hardware Description Language (HDLs) Electronic system level (ESL) Modeling, System Level Design Languages (SLDLs), Software Computer Programming and EDA Tools. Her research interest are in Electronic System Level (ESL) Modeling and Verification of complex MPSoC architecture for medical instruments.  RTL Design for Advanced computer Architecture (DSP processor, VLIW, Superscalar, etc) for DSP or Biomedical Image Processing applications and Network-on-Chip (NoC).

Up until 2013, Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen already has 24 publications in hand. Currently she supervise a total of one PhD student; Tei Yin Zhen, Phd (Electrical Engineering), and two Masters student; Chia Nyoke Goon, Master of Engineering (Bio-Medical Engineering) and Muhammad Amin Hashim, Master of engineering (Electrical Engineering).

Several research honors and awards that has been received by Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen such as Consolation Prize (Altera track) for National Design and Technology competition, Innovative Malaysia Design competition; Silver  and Bronze medal Winner during University Technology Research Exhibition, 12th   Industrial Art and Technology Exhibition (INATEX 2010). She also had received Best Paper award winning during 6th International Conference on Robotic, Vision Information and Signal Processing (ROVISP’2007).

Dr Jasmine Hau Yuan Wen also active in non academic activities like she has received silver medal of chess team in Kejohanan Sukan Staf Antara Universiti Malaysia kali ke -38. She seldom joined UTM Staff Games in ping pong and became champion in Women Single ping pong and Bronze medalist in Women Double Ping Pong in 2013. Other than that she is Grade 8 Pianoforte from the Associated Board  of the Royal School of music and grade 3rd of Taekwon-Do from International Taekwon-Do Federation.
